FAQs
Can I use MBLEM on public roads?
MBLEM is supplied for show, exhibition, private-land and off-road use. It isn't represented or approved by MBLEM for use on public roads in Great Britain, and we don't sell it as a road-use accessory.
UK rules on vehicle lighting and construction can restrict illuminated, animated or digital displays on road-going vehicles. If you fit MBLEM to a vehicle, you're responsible for making sure its installation and use comply with the laws that apply to your vehicle and location.
Where can I use MBLEM?
MBLEM is designed for show and display: car shows and exhibitions, private events, meets held on private land, garages and studios, detail studios and showrooms, private driveways and property, and off-road use on private land.
Check the rules of the event, venue or landowner before you switch it on. MBLEM isn't represented or approved by us for use on public roads in Great Britain.
Can I install it on a show car?
Yes. That's exactly what MBLEM is designed for: show cars, exhibition vehicles and cars on display at private events.
Check your event's rules on illuminated displays before the day, and have MBLEM fitted by a qualified installer. If you fit MBLEM to a vehicle, tell your insurer about the modification.
Does MBLEM guarantee road legality?
No. We don't guarantee or claim that MBLEM can be used lawfully on a road-going vehicle, and it isn't represented or approved by us for use on public roads in Great Britain.
Rules on vehicle lighting and construction can restrict illuminated, coloured, flashing, animated or digital displays, and they can differ in Northern Ireland and in other countries. DVSA guidance says enforcement action can be taken even when a light is switched off at the time.
If you fit MBLEM to a vehicle, you're responsible for making sure its installation and use comply with the laws that apply to your vehicle and location. We can't give legal advice.
Why do I confirm the intended use before checkout?
So we're both clear about what you're buying. Before you pay, you confirm that you understand MBLEM is supplied for show, exhibition, private-land and off-road use and isn't represented as approved for use on public roads in Great Britain. For a pre-order, you also confirm the estimated dispatch window.
We record that confirmation with a reference that's attached to your order. The record doesn't include your name or email address, and it doesn't affect your statutory rights.
What's the difference between MBLEM 82 and MBLEM 74?
The size of rear badge each one is made for.
MBLEM 82 is for BMW models with an 82 mm rear badge. It's in stock at £200, and orders are dispatched within 7 days of purchase.
MBLEM 74 is for BMW models with a 74 mm rear badge. It's available to pre-order at £150, and we’ll confirm the dispatch timeframe before 74 mm pre-orders open.
Measure your badge before you order, so you choose the right size.
Which size do I need?
It depends on the rear badge on your BMW. MBLEM 82 is made for BMW models with an 82 mm rear badge, and it's in stock. MBLEM 74 is made for models with a 74 mm rear badge, and it's available to pre-order.
Our sizes come from BMW's parts catalogue, so measure your badge edge to edge before you order. On some models the badge is also the boot release or houses the reversing camera, and we don't offer MBLEM for those at launch.
When will my order be dispatched?
It depends on the size. MBLEM 82 is in stock: orders are dispatched within 7 days of purchase. MBLEM 74 is available to pre-order: we’ll confirm the dispatch timeframe before 74 mm pre-orders open.
The checkout shows the dispatch time for the size you've chosen before you pay. If anything changes, we'll email you, and you can cancel for a full refund at any time before your order is dispatched.
How do pre-orders work?
MBLEM 74 is a pre-order. You pay at checkout, and we dispatch your MBLEM 74 once it arrives from our supplier. We’ll confirm the dispatch timeframe before 74 mm pre-orders open. You’ll see it before you pay.
That estimate is based on our supplier's shipping window, plus up to 7 days for us to send it on. We'll email you with updates, including if the date changes.
You can cancel a pre-order for a full refund at any time before it's dispatched: just email [email protected]. If we can't supply it, we'll refund you in full. Your right to cancel within 14 days of delivery still applies too.
Can I use animations?
Yes. MBLEM shows still images and animations, and the companion app has a library of animated and still designs to choose from.
Display them in show, exhibition, private-land and off-road settings. Only display artwork you own or have permission to use. Don't display other brands' logos.
Can I install it myself?
We recommend a qualified installer. MBLEM is wired into your vehicle's 12 V electrics, and wrong wiring can drain your battery or damage electrical systems. Fitting isn't included in the price.
Our installation page shows what fitting involves, but we don't publish DIY wiring steps.
